The Importance of Super Foods

Wanted to talk to all my ladies out there about the importance of incorporating Super Foods into your daily diet. The great thing about super foods is that they contain important nutrients and antioxidants which our bodies need to fight off infections. The presence of these antioxidants and nutrients in the body help to fight off harmful toxins and substances that may harm our immune system and our overall health. So to include them into our diets is critical.

Believe it or not super foods are delicious and healthy group of foods including foods rich in Omega 3 fatty acids like:



  • Salmon
  • Tuna
  • Avocado
  • Walnuts
  • Almonds
  • Olive Oil
  • Flax Seeds

I can't leave the fruits and vegetables out. The ones that are bright in color or have that dark hue contains plenty of antioxidants. They make great choices to add to any meal. These super foods are:

  • Tomatoes
  • Carrots
  • Sweet Potatoes
  • Apples
  • Oranges
  • Butternut Squash
 I also want to speak about an important super food called Maca. The Maca root is originated from the county of Peru. Maca is a nutritionally dense super food that contains high amounts of minerals, vitamins, enzymes and all essential amino acids. Unlike caffeine, Maca will give you the energy boost that you need when you have low energy. Maca root helps balance our hormones. Maca stimulates and nourishes the "master glands", your hypothalamus and pituitary glands of the body. Hormones regulate many things including mood, growth, sexual development, and hormones also play a role in many diseases like cancer and depression. 

For my ladies out there Maca root has been shown to be beneficial for all sorts of hormonal problems, such as PMS, menopause, and hot flashes. It has also been known as a fertility enhancer and to improve libido and sexual function in both women and men. Most importantly Maca has also been know to detoxify the body.

Try to incorporate super foods into every meal and enjoy how beneficial they are. They not only make for healthy and low fat food choices, but they also help you to get more antioxidant intake into your daily diet. It can help fight or prevent viruses or any harmful diseases from attacking your body.
